You have to hear it to believe it

More unbelievable Republican racism, this time from a candidate for Congress from North Carolina. How do these people sleep at night?

Did you ever see a movie that was so good you didn't want to share it with anybody?

Mississippi's Segregationist Spy Agency

Reading this article in the New York Times about Haley Barbour, the racist governor of Mississippi, I was schocked to come across this sentence:

"The files of the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission, the state's segregationist spy agency, show that killing or framing Mr. Kennard was openly discussed as preferable to allowing him to enroll at the college. "

Yes, Mississippi had a spy agency, devoted to stopping segregation. You can read about it here: Mississippi Sovereignty Commission. The Commission also inspected suspected integrated toilets, investigated alleged cases of miscegenation and was later tasked with identifying Vietnam War protestors.
